I am an Information Technology and Management professional currently living in the capital region of New York. I have had a passion for technology for as long as I can remember. I held my first IT position as an unpaid computer technician intern at a local PC repair shop when I was 16. It was there that the owner of the repair shop taught me the basics of the trade with hands-on, real-world experience. It was upon this solid foundation that I built a successful career. I have spent the last 14 years climbing the ranks in various technical, network, and support positions.
I am currently working as the Chief Information Officer for the State University of New York. As CIO, I provide oversight, vision and leadership for the college's Computer Information Systems including enterprise/desktop applications, technical centers and labs, server/systems administration, network & telecommunications, online/distance learning, the campus print shop as well as user support such as help desk services. SUNY Delhi's IT department is composed of 23+ dedicated professional staff with expertise in a variety of complex technologies and services.
Previously, I spent several years as Director of Information Technology Services for The Sage Colleges, a multi-campus professional college in upstate New York. The path toward higher education was not my projected goal as a 16 year old novice, but I have found that higher education has provided me with a unique opportunity to flourish and demonstrate my distinctive skills. In addition to the average IT resume bullets, my expertise incorporates saving significant amounts of money into nearly any institutional goal that employs IT solutions.
I have written and published a magazine article to this effect entitled Maximizing the IT Budget for Success: Sage College’s Journey of Creativity and Efficiency that is published in the Spring, 2010 issue of The Acuta Journal Of Telecommunications In Higher Education. I am experienced in restructuring, reorganizing, merging and building IT departments. I am a confident public speaker and have been hired to speak professionally on topics including IT best practices, open source technology, thin computing, and more. In addition, I am enthusiastic and accomplished at coming up with IT solutions, creating a plan and seeing it through to completion.
Thank you for viewing my professional profile. Please explore further using the tabs above, and try to attend one of my upcoming speaking engagements. Please contact me for an unabridged copy of my resume.
